On 6th of May, Aidot, a medical artificial intelligence startup, announced that it has completed the registration of the main patent for the AI-based carotid ultrasound diagnosis
system, ‘SONO dot AI’.
This system can easily find plaques that can cause stroke even for those who are not skilled in carotid artery ultrasound.
An official from AIDOT said, "Because it is based on a portable ultrasound device, it is possible to disseminate carotid artery ultrasound screening for early stroke prevention not only
to Southeast Asian countries that lack medical staff and medical infrastructure, but also to Japan, North America, and Europe where home visit culture has developed. "
AIDOT also registered a patent for the 'colposcope camera', which is the core of the AI-based cervical cancer solution 'Cerviray'.
As a result, the company explained that it has been able to spur the defense of global intellectual property rights.
Jaehoon Jeong, CEO of AIDOT said, “As more than 30 patent applications have been registered sequentially, we will further strengthen the company’s competitiveness by securing
intellectual property rights for domestic and overseas patents.”
